According to some clinical studies and anecdotal evidence, applying almond oil to the skin may have the following benefits:
- Helps reverse sun damage. Studies have shown that vitamin E may help reduce damage to the skin caused by UV exposure.
- Reduces the appearance of scars. In ancient Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, almond oil was used to reduce scarring. Vitamin E oil's content may contribute to helping smooth the skin. Dark patches on your skin can be caused by too much pigment (melanin), which is triggered by hormones or other causes. Called melasma, this condition is believed to be treatable through the use of topical vitamin E.
